Introduction
Since the success of the first Beyond Thoughts – Integrating Cross-disciplinary Art Environment Forum in 2011, the Center For Art and Technology collaborated with School of Fine Arts Graduate Institute of Trans-disciplinary Arts this year. The theme of the forum is focus on art and community, exploring the possibilities of integrating art into the critique of social consciousness. Besides local artists and scholars in related fields, Ellen Pau, founder of Videotage, renowned new media arts organization from Hong Kong and Hong Kong creative group Make A Change HK are also invited to join the forum. Furthermore, one day workshops are added this year, allowing students to trigger their potential by working closer with the artists. This forum speculates on how art could integrate with the reality of the society and contemporary social issues, besides seeing art as a personal aesthetics creative project.
