Organized by Taipei National University of the Arts and Center for Art and Technology, TranSonic 2013, the annual series of sound art performances, echoes the theme of TechArt Renaissance – A Retrospective of Art and Technology at TNUA. For 2013, the performance will focus on creation, legacy, and external association as its main axis. It invites six artists who are highly representative of Taiwan’s development in the fields of sound art to conduct a performance that spans generations. Furthermore, it will serve as the opening prologue for TechArt Renaissance – A Retrospective of Art and Technology at TNUA.
This performance includes senior artist representative, Fujui Wang, who will explore a series of new experiments regarding sound and space. The group, Taipei Hot Autumn, which was formed by Da-Wang Huang and Yo-Sheng Chang, will feature an improvisation of extremely calm and violent noises. Representing emerging artists, the new group, HH, founded by Chung-Han Yao and Ting-Hao Yeh, will combine intense rhythms and experimental sounds through stunning live audio-visual effects. Chung-Kun Wang will continue his new work, Big Bang, by producing a miniature organ within a case. Lien-Cheng Wang utilizes mathematical algorithms to construct a system of physics that conducts a dynamic operation of sound and light. Another representative of emerging talent, Yen-Tzu Chang will wear different interactive sound and light devices to conduct a man-machine performance. Spanning generations, this performance will keep people’s eyes and ears busy, while demonstrating extremely exciting breakthroughs in sound and art performances.
